Jason Derulo Admits ‘Talk Dirty’ Is ‘A Little Schizo,’ a By-Product of Constant Creativity
April 17th was release day for Jason Derulo‘s fourth studio album in as many years, appropriately titled “Talk Dirty” – you’ll know what we mean when you see the super-sexy cover art!
While in studio, Jason spoke about the writing and recording process of his latest effort with 92.3 NOW’s Zann, explaining the different vibes that can be heard throughout.
“It’s partly the fact that it did take a while for it to come out. In America, for a successful single it takes six months for the whole rotation. I never stop recording, I never stop writing songs. My vibe changes all the time. The vibe on this album, a little ‘schizo,’” Jason admits.
“I [wanted] to have a complete album where you could just listen to it anywhere,” said Jason. “So whether you’re getting ready for the club, whether you’re at the club or whether you’re in the bedroom with that special somebody and need to set the mood right… this album has all of those elements.”
“I’m not someone who likes a one dimensional album… it kind of gets boring and then I can’t listen to it,” Jason continued. “But this album you could listen to at any point.”

Prior to being the man you know now, Jason had been writing songs for hip hop artists with pop sensibilities for years. This is one of the reasons he was so excited to work with artists such as Snoop Dogg, Tyga and Kid Ink on ‘Talk Dirty.’
“Snoop in particular, that was amazing to me because I grew up watching Snoop,” admits Jason. “So to have such a legend, icon on my album is incredible.”
Jason also spoke about working with the man of the hour, Pharrell Williams.
“I remember when I was getting in the studio with Pharrell for this album and people were like ‘why..? He’s not hot right now.’ and I was like, ‘Pharrell is a genius. This man is amazing at what he does.”
Jason is performing this Easter Sunday (4/20) at Six Flags Great Adventure for the Coca Cola Concert Series! You won’t want to miss it, 92.3 NOW will be there in full force!
