Fans of One Direction‘s Zayn Malik can relax a little bit after rumors surfaced that the singer was feeling the strains of celebrity life and was actually considering leaving the band. Digital Spy is now squashing those rumors with a statement from a rep for the boy-bander which says flat out that Zayn “isn’t leaving the band.”

Previous reports from the fine celeb-sleuths at Celebuzz had suggested that Zayn wanted to leave the group after struggling to cope with fame, with a source even saying that Zayn has been “a daze” around his pals and that their SyCo label boss Simon Cowell even had to promise a lighter schedule.

The rep’s statement doesn’t really do much to stifle the rumors that Zayn is super-stressed, but at least we can rest assured that 1D won’t be trying out any handsome Brit boys to fill the fifth slot in the near future.
