Chris Brown is attempting another disappearing act. After the alleged parking lot scuffle with Frank Ocean, Brown has a deleted his Instagram account. It was his last regular means of communication with the public since he went dark on Twitter last year.
Before he shut down his account he thanked his fans and directed them to his Mechanicaldummy website. He also offered something of an explanation:
“Elevate yourself above the negative, and if it doesn’t work…move on! Respect myself and my fans enough to want to be great. But… social media takes away the essence of why we are even special or icons. So with that, I’m detaching myself from that world.”

On Sunday January 27, Brown and Ocean were reportedly involved in a fight over a parking space at a Los Angeles recording studio. To be sure, the two have a history of bad blood but the parking space set off a fracas that led to a 9-1-1 call.
“There was a minor scuffle outside a recording studio over a parking space,” Los Angeles County sheriff’s spokesman Steve Whitmore confirmed to Radio.com. “We don’t know what happened, it is an ongoing investigation.”
After his alleged brawl with Ocean, Brown took a lot of fire for posting a painting of Jesus Christ on a cross with a caption read, “Painting the way I feel today.”
Brown has a sordid history with social media. In November 2012, after several instances of quitting Twitter a spat with comedy writer Jenny Jones, led Brown to pull the plug on his account. Instagram became his choice for connecting with fans. For now, that is no more.
