The 2013 Oscar nominations were released this morning in Los Angeles and there are a couple of surprises to add to the usual suspects!
This year’s Oscar host Seth MacFarlane and actress Emma Stone did the honors of making the announcement from the Academy’s Samuel Goldwyn Theater.
The announcement marks the first time since 1972 that an Oscar show host has participated in the nominations announcement (that year Charlton Heston did the double duty).
As expected, Steven Spielberg’s Lincoln walked away with the most nominations, 12 in total, among them Best Picture. Les Miserables and Argo both walked away with 7. The big surprise came from Life Of Pit with 11 nominations!
