From Zann

If you know anything about me yet, it’s that I have had a serious struggle with my weight since I was a teenager.

At the age of 12, I sustained a serious back injury that made me immobile for about a year. I put on so much weight it was ridiculous. It only continued throughout high school and into college. At one point I became the product of an endorsement in the past 5 years. I was PAID to lose weight.

There are two things that matter to me more than anything in the world: my family and my job. At my previous job a client endorsed me to lose weight. And weight I lost. I lost about 200 lbs or more… can’t really recall. I started in at almost 500 lbs, and ended at approximately 260. I had never felt better. But then, I lost that endorsement and I also lost my job.

This is what I looked like before and after the endorsement:

I was a pretty hefty girl. And I ended up as “not so hefty.” But since I wasn’t obligated to do the endorsement anymore, I began to pick up some of my old habits again: not eating, eating poorly, drinking, missing work outs.

This is me interviewing Neyo:

You can see a year later, I have put some of the weight back on. Not all of it, in fact, not nearly. Maybe a small percentage of what I had a lost. In any case, I had started going back to the way I used to be, both mentally and physically and if you fast forward to now, something clicked and I realized I was making the biggest mistake of my life. That’s when a few weeks ago, I decided I needed to gain control of my life mentally and physically again.

I don’t NEED to blog this. Nobody is paying me to do it. I only hope to inspire the women/girls and men/boys out there that are truly trying to gain some control of their life in any way. Even if it doesn’t pertain to weight loss.

Goal: My short term goal is to be down 80 lbs by March 2nd. I am hosting a big teen festival called Pop Explosion in NYC at the Gramercy Theater…and I want to be my lightest by then.

This is how I’ve started my journey: I’ve completely overhauled my diet.

Paleo Diet (With a few alterations): I am pretty much a vegan minus I eat meat.

YES, I’m THAT person. I don’t dabble in fish or red meat, but I holla at chicken. I eat two meals a day, high in protein and drink two protein shakes a day which are from my old program. Nuts, chicken and berries….it’s pretty much what I live off of. And green tea, black coffee along with a lot of water! If you see me running, I’m headed to the bathroom.

Supplements: I am on a cleanse, multivitamin, fat burner and cell activator (to break down fat cells and build new cells).

Exercise: I’ve enlisted a fine looking gentleman named Mo. Actually, he found me. Well my gym gave him to me. I work out at Dolphin Fitness in Bay Ridge (in my hood). I started working out solo. BUT, when I asked for an orientation they set me up with this trainer guy. I kind of liked him (well I actually really like looking at him) and to be honest, I like to test out his endurance of my personality, so I kept him around. (I’ll make sure to put a pic up of him next week so you can lust after him, I mean just get a good look at him, as well.)

My work outs consist of: A lot of squats, boxing, weights, crunches, a lot of squats….did I mention squats?

I train with my trainer three times a week. I also do 3 days of solo working out. Yes, my body is sore….all the time. I look like a baby giraffe walking around.

But this far here are my stats:

Weight loss: Down 27 lbs since December 26th.

Follow my blog every Monday. I can’t guarantee every week will be perfect, but right now I have never felt more in control in my life. I don’t miss bad foods. I don’t miss NOT working out. In fact, it was this control and this healthy lifestyle I had had before that I had been missing all along!
