One Direction band member Liam Payne suffered a minor injury after reportedly being mobbed by fans at London’s Heathrow Airport over the weekend.

Payne touched down at the airport on Saturday and it was then that he found screaming and anxious fans there to greet him. Things become a bit unruly and Payne left the ordeal bruised. Luckily for Payne, he endured only minor injuries and also found the time to take to his Twitter page and write of the experience and share a photograph:

He also expressed some frustration on his Twitter page about the chaos at the airport in London in which he felt that he was being blamed for fans’ behavior:

“I don’t know why people are blaming us for this it’s so sad when everyone’s rushing and make it unsafe we get thrown back in our cars”   — Liam Payne (@Real_Liam_Payne) December 8, 2012

Payne, who seemed to let his frustration subside as fans rushed to catch a glimpse of him,  also shared a bit of comedy about the incident on Twitter:

Seeming to take the price of being a teen idol in stride, Payne also assured Twitter followers that neither he nor anyone else was seriously hurt and during his London visit he would see fans soon:

Additional reports indicate that One Direction’s security team struggled to keep fans at bay and maintain continuity as a huge number of fans gathered at the airport to meet Payne. No word yet on changes in security for the band, although one can assume that things will be a bit different the next time Payne and 1D land at the next airport.
