Rihanna and Chris Brown: True Love 4E?

Ever since word broke that Rihanna was going to be sitting down with the one and only Oprah (The Queen of All Media), everyone was buzzing about whether or not RiRi would go down memory lane with Oprah about the infamous Chris Brown fiasco.

Turns out, she did. And not only did she go there, but she WENT there… tears and all!

During the interview, Rihanna confessed her love for Chris Brown. Not only does she still love him, but she was able to forgive him for the abuse that he inflicted on her. Through the pain and through the tears, Rihanna went through a dark phase with her music, her fashion and even in her own dating life.

But as time progressed RiRi was able to forgive Chris for what he did. She even felt bad for what he went through in the public’s eye. “It became a circus and I felt protective. I felt like the only person they hate right now is him. It was a weird, confusing space to be in because as angry as I was, as angry and hurt and betrayed, I just felt like he made that mistake because he needed help.”

Rihanna explained, “We’re very, very close friends. We built a trust again and that’s it. We love each other and we probably always will.”

After the interview aired, Rihanna was blasted by critics and advocates of women’s rights. Women who have been through domestic abuse are back-lashing RiRi for sticking up for a man who beat her. If you truly love someone, can’t you still care about a person, although they have hurt you deeply?

But can you help who you love? Are we able to judge someone without being in their shoes?

Ty believes that Rihanna is setting us up for what will soon be an announcement of she and Chris rekindling their love and getting back together.
