A Look Through The One Direction Rumor Mill: Here’s What’s True

The boys of One Direction sure lead busy lives. They just wrapped their first U.S. headlining tour and hopped right back into the studio to put the final touches on their second album. In the midst of it all rumors have been flying everywhere they go so here’s a break down on what’s true from this week’s One Direction rumor mill.

1. Liam Payne is not engaged

Don’t worry ladies, none of the boys are completely off the market…yet.

An Instagram user claiming to be Liam uploaded pictures of what looked like him and his girlfriend Danielle Peazer. Along with the photos was a long message where he said they would be moving in together which set the Internet ablaze with speculation that the two were engaged.

“This is a fake account and the rumors are completely false. They are not engaged or moving in together,” Payne’s rep told MTV News.

2. There is a naked photo on the Web, but Niall Horan didn’t take it*

While the 1D boys do seem awfully close and are frequently seen crotch grabbing and bum slapping each other, Niall definitely didn’t take this photo of Louis naked in the shower.

The truth of the matter is Niall does not have an Instagram account. By just visiting his Twitter you can see the photos taken with the yfrog app on his BlackBerry. Since Instagram isn’t available to BlackBerry users there’s no way he could have uploaded a naked photo on Instagram. If it was on yfrog though we’d be writing a different post (or some 1D fanfic).

3. Harry Styles has more Twitter followers than One Direction

Interestingly enough this is true. Louis just took to One Direction’s Twitter account to announce the band reached over five million followers.

It seems that Harry surpassed this milestone a long time ago as he has well over 200,000 more followers on his personal account. Are the other boys jealous? They don’t seem to be just yet but as we noted Harry is music’s newest heartthrob so our bet is he’ll be the first member to go solo. But that’s not a fact just yet…

4. Expect new music from One Direction soon

Harry recently checked in from an album shoot at a secret location to let fans know they’re putting the final touches on their next release. “You guys will see it soon and hopefully you’ll like it,” he said.

Meanwhile, Niall previously told MTV that the band could drop a single off the follow-up to Up All Night by early fall.

5. Harry likes the Beatles, Coldplay and Michael Jordan

There is a reason Harry has the most Twitter followers: he tweets the most out of the whole band. Just a glimpse into Harry’s Twitter feed tells the tale of his love for the original British boy band:

*Amended: Thanks to 1D fans we just learned that Niall in fact does have an Instagram account, he just rarely uses it. While it’s a relief that he isn’t iamirishboy, the user that posted an alleged naked photo of Louis on Instagram, fans can follow his real account nialler1993 where they can find three of his photos.
