Rihanna is known for her unique fashion sense and now she’s taking her passion to television.
“I’ve always loved fashion. Fashion has help shape me into the artist I am today,” Rihanna says in a trailer for her new show Styled To Rock.
The show will feature stylist Lysa Cooper, fashion designer and Vogue blogger Henry Holland and Girls Aloud member Nicola Roberts as mentors who are searching for the next fashion sensation.
On the U.K. show, which airs in August, designers will get the chance to work with a different superstar every episode. For 10 weeks Rihanna will challenge the designers to create outfits for musicians, parties, photo shoots and high-profile events. The winner will have their work worn by Rihanna during her performance at London’s Wireless Festival.
To my friends at Sky Living, thank you for working with me all the way til 5am this morning! I’m happy to be a part of the fam, WELL DONE!! — Rihanna (@rihanna) June 28, 2012
While there has been no mention to whether the show will make it’s way to the U.S. or what other musicians will appear on the show, each episode’s challenge will give insight on how the stylist works with a designer and musician to maintain the artist’s image.
“I think it’s a great concept and a brilliant opportunity and platform for designers and stylists. A chance to work with Rihanna and some great mentors across the music and fashion industries is definitely something I wish I had been lucky enough to be able to do when I was starting out,” Holland said.
