Karmin: The Daring-est Duo Discuss “HELLO,” One Night Stand And Falling In Love
Amy Heidemann and Nick Noonan, affectionately and simply known as Karmin, dropped by the 92.3 NOW studios to chat it up with Miss Sarah Lee. The pair let us in on what to expect from their new album, how Nick popped the big question to Amy and their big performance coming to 92.3 NOW’s One Night Stand at the Best Buy Theater on June 15th.
Karmin released HELLO on May 8th, propelled by their smash hit “Brokenhearted.” And just what will all those Karminites be in store for when they pick up the duo’s new album?
“Lot’s of rapping,” says Nick. “Yes. Lots and lots of hip hop inspired pop songs,” adds Amy, who has wowed fans in the past with her ability to keep up with rappers like Busta Rhymes and Nicki Minaj, seen in Karmin’s covers of “Look At Me Now” and “Super Bass.”
Following the success of “Brokenhearted” won’t be easy, but the Daring-est Duo has a plan for picking their next single with a simple message to their fans.
“Let us know your favorite for next single,” says Amy. A truly democratic and crowd-pleasing way to make a decision.
Noonan and Heidemann have been together now for five years, dating back to their time together at Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts. Though the two have spent nearly every moment together during that time, living together as a couple and making music, Nick did manage to surprise Amy when popping the big question.
“I wrote a song for Karmin,” Amy recalls Nick saying over the phone. “I want to come over on my lunch break and play it for you.”
But when Nick popped on his iPod it wasn’t a new Karmin track Amy heard, but her grandparent’s wedding song. While Elvis Presley’s “Can’t Help Falling in Love” played, the water works began.
Karmin will bring their unmatched energy and enthusiasm to 923 NOW’s One Night Stand at the Best Buy Theater on June 15th where they will share the stage with The Wanted and Dev! The show is sold out, but you will have plenty of chances to listen and win with 923 NOW!
