Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival is a three day affair in California devoted to all genres of music and art. Some of this past weekend’s performers included The Black Keys, Swedish House Mafia, The Shins, Bon Iver, Radiohead, and Florence and the Machine.
The most talked about performance of the weekend was that of Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre and the one and only, Tupac Shakur. That’s right, the deceased rapper was brought back to life thanks to a ridiculous advancement in technology. A life size hologram of the legendary West Coast rapper came “back from the dead” to rep his coast one more time. He even gave a shout out to his right hand man of the night, Snoop, and another for the festival crowd. “What the f**** is up Cochella!?”
Yolo? Challenge, completed.
Shakur shared the stage with Snoop and Dre, performing both “2 of Amerikaz Most Wanted” and “Gangsta Party.” He sported his signature look, wearing his baggy jeans, boots, and of course his gold chain that dangled and swung back and forth as he moved way too realistically. The details were borderline creepy, but one cannot help but be amazed by the ability to bring back one of the greatest rappers of all time.
The hologram already has it’s own Twitter account, amassing thousands of followers.

This got us to thinking. If they could bring Tupac back, who else could they holographically resurrect? Which deceased artist would you want to see in hologram form? We asked your favorite jocks here in the studio… and here’s what they thought!
“This is easy!!! Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston and Amy Whinehouse; Three artist I’ve never met AND was never able to see live in concert. What about a world tour with the three?!?! I’m sure it would be sold out in seconds!” - Sarah Lee
“I would love to see Lady Gaga as a Hologram esp performing her Born This Way because she is amazingly creative and I love the way she moves… she is the Madonna of our time and I think her Born This Way Foundation -her anti bullying foundation- does remarkable work… need I say more? Okay, I will! I was totally blown away during her last tour…so much so that I can’t wait to see her again!” - Micki Gamez
“Michael Jackson without a doubt! He was ready to go on his “This Is It Tour” and A) I would have loved to see what he had planned for his legions of fans, and B) It would be entertaining to watch the court case afterwards with all the family members suing each other for the profits.” - Jay Dabhi, Resident Mixer
“Come on, man! Of course Biggie. Watch him and Tupac’s hologram perform all of their hits and rock it together. I would also like to see Ol’ Dirty Bastard perform with the whole Wu Tang Clan. And I can’t forget Aaliyah. Seeing her would give me goose bumps for sure! But lets really stir the pot! What IF a new rapper was JUST a hologram. No one knew who he or she was, they just made hit after hit and only performed as a hologram!” - DJ Toro
“I would love to see Amy Whinehouse. I blast the entire Back to Black album at least once a week. Biggie as well. In my mind, he’s my big brother so seeing him rock once again would be amazing. Last but not certainly not least would be Michael Jackson. I would love to see him moonwalk once again.” - Eutopia
