Justin Bieber Talks “Boyfriend,” Dating & Being a Protective Son
This morning, Justin Bieber called in to talk shop with 92.3 NOW’s DJ Lil Cee and Sarah Lee as he makes the rounds promoting his brand new single, “Boyfriend,” off of his soon to be released and highly anticipated album, Believe.
Thinking that she was 16-years-old all over again, Sarah Lee wasted no time at all telling Justin that she indeed has Bieber Fever saying “I wish right now I could put my hands through this microphone and reach you because oh my god you are so super sexy!” Justin, always a gentleman with the ladies just said “thanks.”
As Lil Cee got to talking about the new single, “Boyfriend,” he admitted that he was a little nervous before hearing it because he didn’t know what to expect from a new, mature Justin Bieber. Justin says that he and his team are “trying to make something new and fun and creative but still keep [his] main fan base and also be able to grow an audience.”
Sarah, already a huge fan of the new single wanted to know who wrote the lyrics “Falsetto in 3..2..”. Of course, a line like that could only come from Justin, himself.
Expanding on the falsetto, Cee struck a soft spot with Justin when he mentioned he thought Justin’s voice sounds like another hugely popular singer who loves a good falsetto and also has the same name… Justin Timberlake. Justin disagreed, saying “I don’t think it sounds like Justin Timberlake. I think you think because you hear falsetto that what you think about is Justin [Timberlake]. I get it.”
Sarah then brought it back to where the fans want it… relationships!
With a new album coming out and touring certainly on the schedule, Sarah wanted to know what it’s like for him to be in a relationship when he’s so busy. Justin said that “at the end of the day, you have to make sacrifices.” You could only assume that he gets his sense of doing for others and making things work against all odds from his mom, Pattie Mallette.
Pattie, a beautiful, single mom who always put her son first, is gearing up to release a memoir titled Nowhere But Up: The Story of Justin Bieber’s Mom. As we all know, boys are supposed to be protective of their mothers. “It’s instinct,” as Justin put it. So Sarah wanted to know if Pattie ever goes out on dates, and if so, is it hard for Justin to keep guard on her and make sure guys respect her the way they should?
“My mom doesn’t really go out that often,” said Justin. “[But] I don’t think I’ll ever really approve.”
