For the past two years, Nick Cannon has hosted the morning show here at 92.3 NOW, so it saddens us to bring you this news… After much consideration, Nick has decided to step down from “Rollin’” and will be hosting his last show today.

During his holiday vacation, Nick was rushed to the hospital due to kidney issues. He came back strong, but now he is having  more issues with his health. On Wednesday he announced that he was hospitalized over the weekend for two blood clots found in his lungs. All these health issues have led Nick to come to the decision to give up the morning show.

Nick has released a statement for now, but will be discussing it further on his final show.

Under doctor’s orders, I have been asked to put my health first and cut back on some of my professional commitments in order to allow my body to get the rest that it needs to keep up with the demands of my multi-tasking schedule.

It has been an absolute pleasure working with CBS Radio and the 92.3 NOW morning show team and I would like to thank them for their unwavering support. I will continue to host my syndicated “Cannon’s Countdown” weekend show and look forward to contributing to 92.3 NOW whenever possible. Even Superman has to sleep.

We respect and understand Nick’s decision to step down from his day to day position as host of morning drive on 92.3 NOW, and fully support him as he takes on a less demanding role with the station in order to address his health.  Everyone at the station and all of the CBS RADIO family wish him well, and look forward to his continuing contributions to 92.3 NOW.

For the time being, DJ Lil Cee will be holding down the morning spot with Sarah Lee. Stay tuned for more updates.

My son has autism. The school bus driver knew to put you on the radio for him and have it on before he got on the bus. You really made him a happy child. You made him laugh. He watches whatever show you’ll be on. When you were out in Jan. he was beside himself. I can’t imagine what he’s like at school today after he found out you are leaving the morning show. Get healthy, stay healthy. I’ll be sure he prays for your health and family.

I’m very sorry to hear you’re leaving but I was wondering about a couple of things. Does this mean that we can still call you @ home and since you’re home you’ll pick up? and are you coming back? What’s the name of the show if you’re not gonna be here? :(

  • SJF

We still love you so much, Nick, and will miss you on the radio! The most important things are you’re health and family though, so you’re doing the right thing.

Nick, It takes a lot of guts to step down from something you love and are great at! A lot of Hollywood Stars should learn from this. The fact that you are putting your health, your wife and children first is a GREAT EXAMPLE!! The next morning DJ has big shoes to fill. God Bless and I wish you well my friend.

We’ll miss you- You are sweet, positive, talented, fun and nice. I always appreciated how you took the high road and did not put people down- You always looked at their good qualities. Good for you for taking control of your health and I hope you come back and ‘visit’ occasionally. All the best!

  • Riot

Get well soon Nick. I’mm so proud of you for taking care of your health first and foremost. It’s crucial. Your presence will be sorely missed though. You are truly blessed so take time to enjoy your blessings.

nick why quit the radio show & not quit AGT or being Nickelodeon CEO or quit doing your comedy tour every weekend. AGT requires you to fly alot as does AGT.
I know bc 923now made you have to get up @ 4am and go to sleep by 9pm right?
I bet you are SOOOOO happy that AGT moved to NY so you are able to stay with MC & twins. You’re lucky Piers quit & Howard was hired.

Hey Cee, hope you can get your cab driver Subir to wake up early enough to drive you to the station in the morning…..I love when he calls in with his opinions on stuff!
