[lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Whitney Houston[/lastfm], who ruled as pop music’s queen until her beautiful voice and glorious image were consumed by drug use, erratic behavior and a tumultuous marriage to singer Bobby Brown, has died. She was only 48.

Houston’s publicist, Kristen Foster, said Saturday that the singer had died, but the cause and the location of her death were unknown. Later on, reports came out saying Ms. Houston was found in her room at the Beverly Hilton Hotel at 3:55PM., and paramedics spent close to 20 minutes trying to revive her. There was no immediate word on the cause of her death, but authorities say there were no signs of foul play.
News of Houston’s death came on the eve of music’s biggest night — the 2012 GRAMMY Awards.
