Charli Roo: My “Angel on a Leash”

Of course, every dog owner thinks there’s something incredibly special about their baby but the second I laid eyes on my puppy, Charli Roo, I didn’t “think” she was special… I KNEW she was!

Charli Roo came into my life when everything was in shambles. My dog of 15 years, Rocky, who lived in NC was passing away with cancer, I was working long work days, and I was extremely homesick.

After church every Sunday I would visit a pet store to get my “animal fix” but I had no desire in taking on the responsibility of owning an animal. That all changed the day I met Charli Roo! I’ve never been a lover of small dogs, so it was out of character for me to ask to hold the 1.5 lb puppy. The “life” inside of her spread so much joy to my heart the second I held her. I instantly fell in love with Charli but she was EXPENSIVE and at the time I could barely keep a roof over my head and the only furniture I had was a bed!! No TV, no couch, not even a dresser – so it made no sense for me to buy a DOG!!

I left the puppy store with the salesman reminding me that she’s an amazing dog and will go fast and probably would be bought later that day. Every day I thought about Charli Roo and three days later I finally broke down and called the pet store to see if she was still there. SHE WAS!!! I hoped on a bus and bought Charli Roo on a payment plan.

There’s not a day that goes by that she doesn’t make me smile, or feel so much love that joy overflows in my heart. Charli Roo is an angel, a very special angel, that has become one of my best friends. I thanked God the day I got her and prayed that she bring healing to everyone she meets. And she does!

Well, Charli Roo is taking on a new venture…

Charli Roo will be training for “Angel on a Leash.”

“Angel on a Leash” is a program that takes service dogs into places like children’s hospitals, nursing homes, and homeless shelters. The training will be over a month long!

I can’t wait to help Charli Roo act out her destiny and bring healing to some people who could really use it.

On February 10th, Charli Roo will be walking the “New Yorkie Runway” Dog Fashion Show to raise money for the “Angel on the Leash” program.

Soon the whole world will see my little diva shine! Lol!

That’s awesome about your pet! I have had several different kinds of pets ranging from dogs, rabbits and fish. They are cool to carry with you. People will also be amazed at your pets.
