There can never be too many power ballads on our iPod. That’s the reason why we’re pretty excited to hear this cut from American Idol finalist [mp3com-artist]Adam Lambert[/mp3com-artist]‘s newly released collection, The Paramount Sessions.

Back before Adam Lambert was an American Idol, he was just another singer going about the business of making a name for himself.

Partnering with another singer, [mp3com-artist]Steve Cooke[/mp3com-artist], Lambert put together a band of ace studio players and booked some hours at LA’s famed Paramount Studios. Sharing the band and splitting the time, the pair turned out 20 soulfully interpreted rock ballads written by Dublyn Jones (ten of which feature Cooke, the other ten of which feature Lambert).

Now for the first time, all 20 tunes are available in a completely remixed and remastered set called The Paramount Sessions. Produced and mixed by Grammy winner Bob Cutarella and featuring sideman who’ve played with [mp3com-artist]Madonna[/mp3com-artist], [mp3com-artist]Seal[/mp3com-artist] and [mp3com-artist]Bon Jovi[/mp3com-artist], the collection is chock full of new tracks, extended plays and out takes from both singers.

Adam Lambert’s song “Want” demonstrates why he was a Idol runner-up and remains a fave among fans of powerful, heartfelt vocals. In fact, it shows why Lambert wasn’t “just another singer” at all.

just to be clear this is not an Adam Lambert song, he did not put together a band with Steve Cooke he was a singer for hire to shop demo’s including this song. The song sucks though Adams voice always amazing

  • DJMan

The pair? Adam never met Steven Cooke in his life. This was the product of a sleezy label taking demos that were never meant to be released and trying to capitalize on Adam’s name. Adam was paid for session work and told to sing the song “plain” so that the singer it was being shopped to could envision their voice on the song. They are rough cuts. This has all been spelled out in several interviews. It’s all bogus. They already released these demo’s two years ago and called the CD take one to capitalize off of Adams name the week before he released his real CD. Why are you guys promoting this?

  • JillyJJ

    My most favorite Adam song!

This is just a re-release of WANT from the bogus album Take One released by Wilshire Records before ADAM’s debut album FOR YOUR ENTERTAINMENT & most of the songs on this bogus Paramount Sessions album are also on that bogus Take One album as well. Take One bombed so now they are re-releasing it & adding this Steve Cooke to it!! Geez!!

  • Anadamfan

This release does not have Adam’s blessing and does not represent his artistic vision. Save your money for the real deal next year.

These are NOT authorized by Adam Lambert. These are the money-grubbing creeps that are trying to get money by using Adam’s name – they timed this to be released when Adam’s TRUE Single was due to be released (now it’s delayed because of this BS) – to capitalize on Adam’s fame (which he wouldn’t have if he weren’t on Idol, now they’re saying he shouldn’t have been on Idol due to a contract with THEM, which is ridiculous, he was hired to do sessions work) and also these songs were done 5 years ago with his short-lived band called The Citizen Vein (notice they don’t use the name of the band, only Adam’s name since he’s the one that’s famous). These people are slimeballs. If they’d released this under the band name & with Adam’s blessing, I’d buy it… but no, they had to go the devious route. Screw them, they’re not getting my money. I’m waiting for Adam’s REAL new music.

If whomever wrote this thinks WANT is a good song… they have obviously not heard any works from his last album. Sadly these songs are tagging onto Adam’s recent fame and are not representative of his present work. Take One he was paid to sing demos the way they wantd him to sing them and he was paid for this session work, This company is falsely advertising these as Adam influenced pieces of work. The other BFM album/single are songs Adam co wrote with Monte Pittman. Adam sold the rights to these songs, so he could go on Idol. They were rough recordings they were working on with a producer. athe band was called Citizrn Vein. The band played 3 unpaid gigs in LA clubs. Adam did sell the rights, but they should be called Citizen Vein not “Adam Lambert” in the past 5 years.

Adam has never even met Steve Cooke. This is more stuff from Malcolm Welsford who currently has a lawsuit against Adam. He is presenting this as Adam’s new music (well he was prior to the lawsuit). NONE OF ADAM’S FANS ARE BUYING THIS! Want was on the other album Take One he released the last time Adam had a major release. Adam’s new album will be released in the first quarter of 2012 and it will be great.

Don’t be fooled people. This article is full of lies. This is NOT Adam Lambert’s newly released music, in fact he completely disavows himself of it. He did NOT put together the band and does not know Steven Cooke. Adam was merely a singer hired to lend his voice to these demos several years back. The purpose was to then peddle these unfinished works to others to record. After Adam became famous, these songs were dusted off and deceptively packaged as his music which it is NOT. These scumbag producers are trying to deceive the public and make money off his name again. (Just like they did 2 years ago with the same music at the time his first album was released.) Adam was paid for session work back then and gets nothing from this. These songs and the way that he was instructed to sing them at the time do not represent who he is as an artist. Steer clear.

Not sure where your info comes from but this is not how these tracks were produced. These are just demo sessions Adam did several years ago for another song writer who wanted to present his tracks to other singers in the hopes they would record them. Adam didnt write them and was not allowed to put his own stamp on them as they were merely meant to demonstrate the musical notes of the song he had been given. Adam was not considered good enough to record them for release and these were never meant to be released. He was paid a session “wage” by the song-writer to put his sheet music into audio and that’s all. You can tell Adam does not enjoy singing these songs and that he was just doing a “job”. He sounds miserable and bored. In addition, Adam has clearly stated he’s never even met Steve Cooke and doesnt know who he is. The producers of this album simply stuck a bunch of Cooke’s tracks on the other side of the CD and called it a “collaboration” :) Cheers!

Uh NO. This is an old studio job that has been in controversial dispute since the bottom feeder decided to capitalize on Lamberts fame. In his own words in 2009 “Back in 2005 when I was a struggling artist, I was hired as a studiosinger to lend my vocals to tracks written by someone else. I was brokeat the time and this was my chance to make a few bucks, so I jumped atthe opportunity to record for my first time in a professional studio. The work I did back then in no way reflects the music I am currently in the studio working on. I’m thrilled to be working with some of today’s hottest songwriters andproducers and can’t wait for people to hear what my music really sounds like.”

  • AdamNo1fan

I just downloaded it. I am an Adam fan and these are songs from a guy named Dublyn Jones. The are authorized and if we keep saying they are not Adam will be sued again. We have to stop telling these lies. Adam has already stated he did this work when he needed a few bucks and that it doesnt reflect where he is at now. True though that he never met Steve Cooke and that they didnt hire the band or the studio. It was the songwriter.Welsford kept Lambert & Cooke apart for obvious reasons, but everybody please this is legal and authorized work. Adam signed a contract. He doesnt have to love it, but he never said he doesnt endorse it. If he did, he would be in a criminal court, so come on everybody, we all love Adam and his voice to me sounds fantastic in these songs! Yours sincerely, Adam Lambert No 1 Fan.

@AdamNo1fan CLEARLY you are not Adam’s #1 fan because you don’t know what you are talking about. These demo songs are all already out on the “Take One” album that Adam does not endorse and in fact said it “kills him” when people ask him to autograph a copy.

This is a great song. Tweets from all over the world are saying what an infectious song this is. It is material recorded prioir to American Idol (truly in his most raw/natural state), but it is GREAT! A group of Adam’s fans are smearing this album for whatever reason: it’s not his new material. The tracks are truly good.. Listen for yourself http://www.soundcloud.com/paramountsessions and a lot of stuff previously unreleased.
Please treat yourself and do not be bullied by fanatics. If you are an Adam fan, this will brighten your day! Enjoy!

  • AdamNo1fan

Elvis hated a lot of the songs he had to sing as well, but he got paid and it was his job. Its called the music business, not the music playground where you diss everything you sang to get money when you were a nobody. James Dean hated some of the movies he was in. You always do your job the best you can. Who knows what Adams personal grudge is, but fact is the music sounds GREAT and his voice in fine form.

Great to see some recordings from Adam out there and great Adam is introducing other singers. What a gentleman. We love you Adam. xxxx
