Well, this is clearly the summer of havin’ babies…

From [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Lauryn Hill[/lastfm], to Natalie Portman, to [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Mariah Carey[/lastfm] it seems like everyone is having kids. It seems like in a few months we will have a new addition to the club.

The GRAMMY Award-winning [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Fantasia[/lastfm] has just announced her pregnancy over the weekend in Jacksonville, Florida!

I’m not offering my congratulations just yet…

The “Free Yourself” singer was at a benefit concert celebrating the opening of the Riverview Apartment in Jacksonville yesterday, and she decided that now would be the best time to let the audience in on her secret.

I don’t think we will need Maury Povich to figure this one out though. Fantasia and on-again-off again boy-toy, Antwaun Cook, were recently spotted vacationing in Barbados and she was sporting quite the baby bump…how convenient, right?

You guys wanna know something? I really do root for Fantasia.  I have been a fan of hers since 2004. However, when news like this breaks…it just confirms what a hot mess Fantasia has been this past year.

First, there was suicide attempt last August (and on the heels of the release of Back To Me), then the affair with then-married Antwaun Cook, then the ABORTION of her first fetus with Cook, and now this?!

You know what else I CAN’T GET DOWN WITH?! That whole pregnancy cycle that some celebs go through. After the first trimester is usually when people choose to announce that they are with child to the public. However, I just don’t get people who either deny or try to overly camouflage their baby bump (*cough Lauryn Hill who announced her pregnancy at 7 months but she was as big as a house cough*).

There is a CLEAR difference between FAT and Pregnant. America isn’t stupid.

We’ll stay tuned to see whether Fantasia announces who the father is. Thankfully, we already know, so there is less mystery.
