Lady Gaga — Not Satisfied to Be “Born This Way?”
That [lastfm link_type="artist_info"] Lady Gaga[/lastfm] is a strange one. (Did you see the elaborate, lace cat-suit she wore to yoga? That doesn’t even make any sense, Gaga; You can’t do ‘sun salutations’ in that!!) But all that weirdness is good weirdness. If Lady Gaga doesn’t wear a jacket made of “Kermit the Frog” dolls, who will? I ask you that.
Unfortunately, journalist Ian Halperin is claiming Gaga has some strange obsessions that are less favorable, (think body image issues and drug problems.)
According to the investigative journalist’s new book, Gaga is maniacal about her weight: “Those who have worked with her on tour reported to me that Gaga barely ate for weeks at a time to fit into her costume… Gaga will stare at herself in the mirror for hours on end, analyzing and critiquing her body. It’s an unhealthy obsession.”
It’s true that in a 2009 New York Magazine interview, Lady Gaga announced that “Pop stars should not eat.”
Finally, Ian Halperin stresses that Lady Gaga’s lupus is worse than she lets on, (the star admitted she tested “border positive” for the disease last year). Who knows, but Halperin goes one step further, claiming that “Part of the reason she wears wigs and make-up is because her hair is falling out and she’s covered in red blotches, both side effects of the disease.”
Hmm. There’s no way to tell how much of this is true, but I am sure Lady Gaga loves wigs and crazy outfits regardless of her reaction to lupus. Read: lace bodysuit at yoga.
Gaga — you’re born this way. Weird, but not insane. Please take care of yourself.
