Phil Ade’ has been making a name for himself in the underground world for the past couple years, but with his most recent mixtape “Mixtape Friday”, he has caused a serious buzz all over the underground world. I was lucky to sit and catch up with him about his next project and we even got an exclusive taping of the first single from his next mixtape….
I got a chance to chop it up with Phil Ade’ at a recording session for one of the new songs on his next mix tape that will be dropping soon. Following in the footsteps of Drake, he’s treating this mixtape like an album. During the session I was lucky enough to sit in on, he recorded the track “Monte Carlo”, produced by Sunny Norway. It was an intricate look into the workings of a song and we got to check the engineers out while they produced the track.
There were also a lot of local artists in attendance, one of the producers from L&X Music that created the infamous “In the Morning” with J.Cole and Drake was there. It was a low-key gathering of up and comers in various parts of the music industry. Before any of the recording started, I talked to Phil Ade about his story, the mixtapes, his love for music and his interesting name.
Check out the video interview above, shot at Night Owl Studios, thanks to Xclusive Writes. It was honestly the coolest listening session I have ever been to. Also, if you want to keep up with what Phil Ade’ is doing or his new music – check out 368 Music Group and follow his team on Twitter.
Also special thanks go out to WALU and Kwame for helping with the editing, filming and production of this interview.
