8mile Late Night Buster's Top 10 Songs That Were in a Movie

Eminem in 8 Mile

Every once in a while a movie comes along with a soundtrack that’s better than the movie! Or a song comes along that makes you go “eh… whatever”, but then they take that song and put it in a movie trailer, which makes you change your tune all together. All of a sudden you’re hearing this track with a whole new set of ears. It’s like that “Power” song by Kanye West… it was good, but when they put it in the commercial for The Social Network… it made me feel like I invented Facebook!

With all of this said, I’ve taken the liberty of counting down the Top Ten songs that remind you of the movies they were in.

*Remember this list is just my opinion, so if you have any issue with how this countdown goes, please email me at: buster@idontcare.leavemealone.com.

10: “Hard Out Here For a Pimp” by [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]3 6 Mafia[/lastfm] / Hustle & Flow

At first glance this is nothing more than the average rap song… until you base a movie around it. Hustle & Flow is the story of an underground rapper trying to make it big… and he does. By “writing” the Oscar-Award winning “Hard Out Here For a Pimp”. When [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]3 6 Mafia[/lastfm] won an Oscar for Best Song in a Motion Picture, it had every Mom in America asking their son… “Who’s Juicy J?”
