Mariah Carey went on to the Today Show this morning to make a big announcement… she’s pregnant! A big congratulations goes out to our good friend Nick Cannon as well as his beautiful wife Mariah.

[photogallerylink id=80902]“Well, we’re here in New York; yes, we are pregnant,” the 41-year-old singer said during a interview with Access Hollywood host Billy Bush. “This is true.”

Mariah opened up about her struggle to get pregnant, but kept many of the details private. “I’m actually dealing with this, and it’s been a long journey but it’s been tough,” she explained. “Well, it’s still early. We’re expecting in the spring.”

She added that she and Nick wanted to be very careful when it came to this pregnancy because she suffered a miscarriage two years ago. “Actually, it was difficult. It really was,” she said. “It was really sad. We really had to absorb this and take it in.”

Cannon joined his wife during the interview. “It’s absolutely emotional, but for so many reasons,” he said. “The greatest gift on earth is a child.”

As for the rumors about the bun in Mariah’s oven being a boy, Nick said on the show today “There’s no truth to that. We don’t know the sex of our child.”
