A day after her video for the song “Check It Out” leaked to the web, Nicki Minaj released the video for her romantic ballad “Right Thru Me”.

This time around Nicki shows us a more vulnerable side of her that usually doesn’t come through on most of her hardcore rap tracks. In this video Nicki is actually not wearing any make up, showing us the more realistic side of her without the random Barbie theme she wears so well. The video is interesting in the aspect of how emotional she is in the scenes looking like a true actor opposed to a musician just trying to act in a music video.

The flow of the song matches perfectly with the video – even though Nicki wasn’t “Barbied-Up” she still possesses that glow from her we’ve all grown to love. The video may not be filled with her signature random Japanese/Korean culture references or special effects but was still interesting to watch and definitely kept my attention.

In all the video was a breath of fresh air for Minaj, bringing her image a little more down to earth for her fans so it deserves a 9 out of 10. I think the world will be ready to pick up Pink Friday even more after this video is played in heavy rotation.
